Meningitis: Medicines for Seizures

Medicines can be used to treat seizures caused by meningitis. They include:

  • Phenytoin (Dilantin).
  • Phenobarbital (Luminal).
  • Benzodiazepines. These include clonazepam (Klonopin).

These medicines are used short-term. You stop using them when the seizures are no longer a problem.
