Endometrial HyperplasiaEndometrial hyperplasia is an abnormal thickening of the uterine lining (endometrium) that causes heavy vaginal bleeding. If endometrial hyperplasia is not treated, it may progress to endometrial cancer. Treatment for endometrial hyperplasia includes taking hormones, having a dilation and curettage (D&C), having a procedure to destroy the inner lining of the uterus (endometrial ablation), or having surgery to remove the uterus (hysterectomy).
